OCEANSCAN SALES ENGINEER TAKES PART IN IAKSA KICKBOXING TOURNAMENT (13/06/2008)
IAKSA Kickboxing Tournament
Sir Matt Busby Leisure Centre, Bellshill, Glasgow
Steven Evans, one of Oceanscan's Internal Sales Engineers (on the right in the blue suit), took part in the IAKSA Kickboxing competition on 25th May 2008. The event was held at the Sir Matt Busby Leisure Centre, Bellshill, Glasgow and was Steven's second competition since taking up Kickboxing in February 2008. With hundreds of competitors from all over the UK competing it was going to prove to be a tough task to win a trophy.
Finding himself in the under 75Kg Light Contact section, Steven faced fighters from Maryhill and Cowdenbeath and after 2 very tough fights Steven came away with 3rd place. With little time to recover it was straight into the under 70Kg Semi-Contact section, where he fought through to the Semi-final where he was unfortunately beaten into 4th place.
Even though Steven suffered from 2 broken ribs during the competition, he is looking forward to improving his skills and continuing to compete in the IASKA Tournament in Ayr later this year.
