SONARDYNE MINI ROVNAV

SONARDYNE MINI ROVNAV

MINI ROVNAV is an underwater long-baseline acoustic interrogator specifically designed for fitting to Remotely Operated Vehicle's (ROV's) or Towfish. Its main function is to position theROV or towfish accurately and rapidly. It does this by simultaneously interrogating an array of seabed transponders, receiving their reply signals and measuring the time of each replyrelative to its initial transmission. This information is then passed to a surface computer via the connecting umbilical cable, allowing the position of the ROV or towfish to be determined, relative to the transponder array.

Features

• The MINI ROVNAV has been designed to provide the fastest update rate without sacrificing accuracy.
• It includes both temperature and pressure sensors to provide a measurement of the depth of the ROV and estimate sound velocity.
• The MINI ROVNAV is small enough to be mounted in the most appropriate acoustic position on the ROV removing the need for remote transducers.
• The Data Interface can be configured as RS232 or RS485 full or half duplex. This facilitates interfacing to most ROV multiplexers, while RS485 half duplex     allows communication over only two wires.
• The MINI ROVNAV requires only 2W continuous DC supply between 18 and 72 Volts. Internally this is fully isolated.
